Timestamp for Chat Messages
Minor suggestion that I think would be very useful.
Because theres no way to tell time unless you minimized Guild Wars, perhaps a timestamp could be added to messages in the Chat Window.
Maybe there could also be a toggle option associated with it. Perhaps the timestamp would only appear when a minute has passed as well.
For example:
(1:43) - Me ---> Hi there.
You ---> What's up.
Me ---> Just chillen.
(1:44) - You ---> Aight cool.

A couple of timer for server an local time in the connection led (now server IP, FPS and Ping are show there already) would be better, like has been suggested before.

I think it would make things more cluttered, messy.
Not sure wat the goal is though, either to prove something happened at a certain time or you just want to see the time.
I suggest either adding a timestamp when taking screenshots or add a function /time that says in GMT or a specific timezone.

no thanx. would get kind of annoying and clutter up the chat window. maybe if it was an optional addition that could be turned on and off in the options window. just play in windowed mode with the screen extended the full size of ur comp screen so u can see the time down on ur taskbar ;-) otherwise get a clock set next to ur comp =P. it's annoying enough that the game enjoys telling u to go away every hour because ur playing too much.

Timestamps would be useful for some at least - I'd use them and it's not all that hard to implement if they had more people working on Guild Wars. As it is, probably not worth the time investment.

While I agree with Syntonic above ("not worth the time investment") I would love to see a time stamp in the chat box. Or something that would document the time something occured. Perhaps just putting a time stamp on all system messages?
Like this;

one of very few things that i liked about wow was a little clock attached to the compass ... you can set it be the server time or your local pc time ... wished that gw had that feature.

If your goal is to know what time it is while you play GW, a timestamp is a horrible idea. We should just implement a clock.
I think though that a toggleable timestamp could be useful, but not of very great importance.

Id like timestamps on pm's, the ability to delay pms (eg so u get a shout in gvg, but you dont want to be disturbed [so you set to dnd] then when u are done, you get the pm's and can respond if you want), and finally id like an ingame clock/time so that its easier to organise events without worrying about timezone issues.
Eg meet at 12:00 GW time.

It would have to be optional for this reason alone. Many people would not want a time stamp. Personally I'd enjoy it, but there would be times where I want all that extra junk gone. And I don't think its smart to implement something that everyone HAS to have. The game is goodish as it is, forcing everything to something they may not want is just stupid on Anets part.

That's what I do, and I can never go back to full screen again. But your missing the idea behind the OP. Telling the time is easy enough (clock or watch) but known WHEN people said what is something entirely different. If you run AFK it'd be nice to know how long ago someone PM'd you or said something on Guild Chat. If someone needed a group while you were AFK, and you came back, saw that only 2 mins have gone by, you could still join said group.
But like I said before, it would be a horrible idea without an optional feature. Do I think Anet should spend time on this, no. Its not important.
Do I think its a good thing for GW2, of course. Its the little things that count in life.
/signed for optional feature

I feel that it should have a clock for pm's when set to "away" or yes, a clock, as my pc runs GW slower in window mode, but i use it like that to view times.

I'm actually going to have to agree with this suggestion. Would like to see this as an optional feature. Only because I'm notorious for going afk suddenly and returning to see I haven't logged out with a whole page of PM's. Wondering when they were sent, etc.

Would have to be in UTC being a global game.... and how many people can actually understand the concept of timezones?

lol its a widely know concept. and you need to be 13 to play so i think people would be able to figure that out also it dosnt have to be utc they could do it so you could set your time. and have it set up so the server just figures out the difference. (just like battle net dose when you type /time it will tell you what time it is where you live and what time there server is as in the time of where it is.)
